I have been a professional recruiter for more than 20 years, firstly in New Zealand and since 1993 in the UK. My experience covers the engineering, business support services, manufacturing and energy sectors and I have handled a wide variety of recruitment across general management, sales, marketing, procurement, commercial and finance functions through a mix of search and selection. Salary levels generally range from £50,000 to £150,000.
Until August 2005 I was Head of Engineering/Manufacturing/construction recruitment based in London for Hudson, the global mid market recruitment specialist. I previously worked for 18 years with Morgan & Banks ( an Australasian recruitment company) in New Zealand, Australia and the UK. Morgan & Banks was ultimately acquired by Hudson/TMP.
In November 2006 I established my own company, R & M Thornton Consulting Limited specialising in the same broad construction, B2B support service, manufacturing/industrial sectors with assignments ranging from engineering design / nuclear specialists to hi-technology for R&D focussed organisations, food manufacturing and automotive/aerospace companies.
